Job Posting - Treasurer Position
The Town of Morris is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Treasurer in the Fiscal Office. This is an appointed position for a term of two (2) years. The position will have a minimum of twenty (20) hours per week and will attend Board of Finance meetings at a minimum of monthly. Bachelor’s Degree in accounting/finance or equivalent experience. Experience in municipal finance and/or fund accounting and must be bondable.

Bridge Rehabilitation on Route 109 (Bridge 01309) over Wigwam Reservoir in Morris
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the current road closure and detour in Morris, to facilitate ongoing construction activities related to the replacement of Bridge Number 01309, which carries Route 109 over the Wigwam Reservoir, will continue through October 28, 2019.
The project consists of repairs to the existing box culvert at East Morris Brook and replacement of Bridge 01309, which carries Route 109 over the Wigwam reservoir. The project also involves roadway reconstruction including excavation and paving in the area of the culvert and bridge as well as new plantings.
DOT Project No. 0086-0091 was awarded to Black & Warner Construction Co., Inc., of Unionville , CT, at a cost of $2,482,641.60 on October 24, 2018, and is scheduled to be completed in October 2019.
